My Story

💕 Hi, I’m Melissa — Founder & Curator of Bagged & Boojee

After going through a divorce and becoming an empty nester, I made a choice — to finally live life on my own terms. It was time to rediscover myself — the woman I was before, and the woman I was becoming.

I went back to work as both a Registered Nurse and Real Estate Agent, two careers that reminded me of my strength, independence, and compassion. Those experiences allowed me to travel the world, explore new passions, and embrace my lifelong love for fashion, luxury, and — most of all — collecting designer handbags.

My greatest inspiration has always been my mom — a physician who immigrated to the United States in the late 1960s to live the American dream. She worked hard and believed in rewarding herself with classic pieces from Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton — a passion she began after coming to the U.S. and continued collecting through the 1970s and beyond.

She’s the one who introduced me to designer handbags and inspired my own love for collecting them. Her strength, independence, and timeless style continue to inspire me every day.

My very first luxury bag was a Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 that my mom brought home from Paris. From that moment, I was hooked. Over the years, I’ve built a collection of handbags that each tell their own story — from timeless classics like Chanel and Dior to statement-makers from Gucci, Fendi, and beyond.

Bagged & Boojee was born from that chapter — a reflection of resilience, reinvention, and the joy of curating something beautiful and meaningful. Each piece in my collection tells a story, just like I do. This is more than a boutique — it’s a reminder that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, fall back in love with life, and carry your confidence wherever you go.

Starting Bagged & Boojee was my way of sharing that passion with you. I believe every woman deserves the confidence and joy that come with carrying a bag she truly loves — without always paying full retail price.
